Perfect memory for the Apple MacBook Pro 2011 Latest model, November 5, 2011

This review is from: Corsair 8 GB (2 X 4 GB) Apple Laptop Memory PC3-10666 1333MHz 204-Pin DDR3 SODIMM Mac Memory 8 Dual Channel Kit- CMSA8GX3M2A1333C9 (Personal Computers)

This is the correct memory for the Apple MacBook Pro 2011 Latest model. I called Corsair and they gave me this exact model #.

Before I installed the memory, my MacBook Pro showed I had 4GB 1333 MHZ DDR3.
After the installation of the memory, my MacBook Pro showed I had 8GB 1333 MHZ DDR3.

    Installation took 5 minutes.
Place a towel on a table, turn your computer over and place it on the towel.

Remove all screws that hold the back cover in place. The upper 3 screws are longer than the others.
Make sure you do not loose any screws as they are very small. I made sure that I used the same screw in the same hole it came out of. The cover should then come right off.

You will see the memory. It is held in by a plastic clipping device. Gently spread the plastic clip and slowly pull out the upper memory module. Do this also for the lower module.
When you pull out the module make sure you place it on the table so you know the exact way the new module will go into the computer.

Start with the lower module and gently place it in the memory slot. Do this very slowly and it should fit in perfectly. Place the upper memory module in next.

Place the back cover on the computer and use the screws to hold the cover in place. Do not tighten the screws firmly until all the screws are in. They should all go in smoothly.
Tighten all screws, but don’t tighten them to much.

Turn on your computer, and click on the black Apple, click about this Mac. Your computer will then show the new memory has been installed.

Most searches for CMSA8GX3M2A1333C9 indicate it is a 4GB x 2 kit, not a single 8GB x 1. The item description and image make it appear to be a single 8GB module.

It does everything it suppose to. Works great with my macbook pro 2011 and my mac mini 2011.I had thought they sent the wrong product but they did not, the labeling misleads you into thinking its a single 8gig module. I knew it was too good to be true. OWC sells 16 gig(8Gx2) for 400$ so thats 200 dollars a 8gig stick and when I saw this product, lets say I set my hopes very high. All to let my hopes become crushed by the fact of reality. Even though my hopes and dreams were crushed, I’m not going to vote it down cause I knew it was too good to be true and it does what its suppose to.
